I have the above machine and noticed the upper bushing for the steering shaft was very loose. I ordered the bushing expecting a split metallic bushing but received a plastic/rubber one instead. I would assume this is a design change as I googled the part number and found pictures of what I received. It appears now that I will need to completely remove the shaft to install this new un-split bushing and I am leaning towards replacing the lower bearing (and seal?) as well while I am there. I don't think the lower parts are worn that bad as this has just occurred but "for the money and while I'm there...".

Also read somewhere there is a trick to removing the flange from the shaft and some think it is spot welded?

Any help on this would be appreciated.
