If you want a new standard sized valve guide , give G+H a call or email , I would think if anyone would have them it would be them

thanks fish, I might try them later ?, right now i've got a replacement head, I just put my new valves in it. this head is in decent shape that came with the bike, I even had trx350 rancher valve guides in it, gas tested the valves for leak test, and it passed !..lol. only down side is the guides inside were not long enough to support the valve stems ?. and this concerned me when running. I will just give it to my bud, if and when he needs or want to use it ?, we both know we can use valves out of some old models , like trx250 fourtrax, atc 350x. he's got a lot of old trx250 fourtrax's in his bone yard..lol.

@fishfiles , i'd be willing to bet, they are using OS guides when they recondition heads for folks ?, they got the machines to ream them out, press them in, no one would know the difference unless they were like me ?, and tried doing this themselves ?!..lol.

update: some good news finally !!..lol. was talking to my mail man the other day ( same guy I sold that '05 trx500fm too ), he said his brother had some tires and rims off a trx450es that was just laying around, I told him I could use them on this trx300fw, seeing how I plan on putting front disk brakes on it. they are 25x8x12 fronts, 25x10x12 rears, I think this will work out just fine for this ?!. he sent me a text yesterday, told me he dropped them off, put them on the side of my carport ?, I never seen or knew they were there ?!. sure enough, went outside, there they were..rims were like new !, center caps there, tires with decent tread !..just wow !!!. I was stoked he did that, another reason I felt good about selling him that atv dirt cheap..KARMA WILL ALWAYS DO YOU RIGHT !! :).

I think that is the perfect sized tires for a stock 300 , good score ----

Good thing the 250 heads will work on a 300 and the valves and springs are the same , you do lose the decompression lever -------------- another thing is the jugs on a 250 and 300 are the same , even though the cc displacement listed on size the jug is different , they are the same , except for the bore of the slack adjuster , the 250 was a smaller hole so it needs a bigger hole for the 300 adjuster , you either use the 250 adjuster or grind the hole bigger for a 300 adjuster , the 250 timing chain and sprocket also work and are an upgrade , from 5 bars in a link to 7 bars

They used to not stock them. When they did my head a couple of years ago I had one that was cracked. They had to order it.. Just an FYI. They may be in the same boat as everyone else..

well, its 8:22 am, i'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee..FINALLY !. lost power for most of the early morning hours, aghhh..I hate not having my morning coffee !!!. was just about to heat the water on the kitchen stove, turned the burner on, and it started to '' click '' ( this stove is gas, but uses electric to fire off the spark thing ) just as I turned the knob for gas, and heard the '' clicking '' ?, I thought..well thats odd ?, how it do that ..then glanced at the stove clock..and it was flashing !..wth ?..well crap...power back on !!..lol. I sat here for over an hour trying to figure out how to make my morning coffee, then decided to heat the water on the stove, and just pour it over the grounds..lol. soon as I got started heating the water on stove..sure enough, power is back on !..lol. anywayyyyyyyyyy , I guess folks have been wanting up dates on this build ?, i've been swamped out at my buds place fixing his wrecker, rebuilding a trx300 rear diff, and a few odds and ends, I just have not had time to work on this engine. but I hope to dig in today or tonight, and try to make some progress on this engine !!. will update with some progress pics as I go, so stay tuned if you still have interest ? :).

update: ran into a snag today, half of my center engine cases ( one side ) had a large crack in the very bottom !. made another call to my bud, he had a 2wd motor thats been laying on the floor for some time, said come get it. after I got home, ripped it apart, this is when I discovered that a 2wd motor is not 100% the same as a 4wd engine case !!!. now your wondering, '' well shade..whats the difference '' ?, its the left side center case !. honda made the center case to adapt to the transfer case, where is the 2wd left center case will not work !!. I lucked out here, as I only needed the right center case, which both of these are the same !. got about 3/4 of the lower engine back together, called it a night.

sorry retro, i've been busy as all get out Thursday, between trying to get this motor together, finding the crack, running back and forth to his house and mine, and trying to help a few others on the phone ?, I just got time twisted !!..lol. I have a guy thats from ohio, called me, said he knows another guy that was a member a few years back that I rebuilt the top end on his trx420 ( which by the way, I fixed his front brakes after all these years just not long ago ), anyway..this new guy calls me up, says his trx420 is smoking, wondering if I can take a look at it today ?, so I said sure, but can't tell you whats wrong with it until I tear the top end down ?. he's suppose to call me very early Friday morning, and make a 2 1/2 hour drive to my house, and watch me tear it down. I had to get this trx300 motor '' somewhat '' together to make room in my shop..lol. no time for assembly pics ?!..lol. if I can get time before and if this new guy calls and shows ?, I will try to get some pics of what little I have together on this trx300fw :).

Hay @Tymartinizgood there’s a 300 engine; see that lever on top of the valve cover—supposed to have a spring maybe yours is broke and missing

update: finally got back on this project, just tacked the remaining section on the front bumper/rack, here's what I did, what ya think ?. got a very long way to go on this, one day at a time :).

That looks good. Much better than the stock design.

That looks good. Much better than the stock design.
thank you. had to come up with some way to protect the headlights, and support the front rack on the outer edges.

update: got the front diff installed, front drive shaft installed, front drive shaft cover installed, lower a-arms '' some what '' installed. had to order a upper steering bushing, they had a piece of rubber of some sort stuck on the steering shaft ?!..lol.
