Those of you who own 80’s model Honda’s are aware that they’re quite a rough ride because of the straight axels. I was curious as to if there were any after market shocks, even for newer four wheelers, that would work (fit) on an older Honda to make the ride a little easier? Like air shocks or something along the lines?

Few people have said that 500 foreman shocks will greatly improve the ride and give you a couple of inches of lift. Rrequires grinding down the shock eyelets to fit.

I plan on trying it at some point, but my 350 projects are a ways down the list.

newer shocks, like jeep said ^^^, will require you to grind/cut down the eyes, so they will fit into the mounting bolt at the rear axle, same goes for the front end as well. old oem shocks for these old girls were made with much smaller eye ends back then.

I’m not worried about any modifications, that’s all fine and I’m cabable if it. You said foreman 500, any specific year? Also by any chance does anyone have some links to them?

Doubtful. There are some very expensive shocks that supposedly cushion better than the factory options, but ultimately you have a solid axle rig, so shocks are only going to do so much.

Same as my Jeeps. I can run the best shocks and springs that money can buy, but on a leaf sprung Jeep CJ it's still going to ride like a buckboard wagon.

That said, if you want to drop some serious coin on shocks, and then grind on them to fit, I'd be curious to know how it turns out!
