Hello , I was wondering if anyone what parts can be interchanged between these two atv's. I have a 1987 350 fourtrax with a bad motor and a 1990 300 with a really pooched rear differencial. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx S

Those 2 machines are not the same, at all. There may be some parts to interchange and the only way to know for sure is to just compare them side by side, but generallly speaking nothing will match up.

I do not have first hand experience with them, but I once owned an 86 fourtrax and did a lot of research on the different models, and I learned that the 86-89 fourtrax were sort of the same machine [not exactly] and the 90-2000 fourtrax were sort of the same [not exactly] but the 2 different ranges were nothing like each other.

I don't think anything will bolt up between the two. You might be able to get out your torches and welder and fab something up. I have heard of people using the 350 rear diff in the 300, but I don't know what all they had to fab up to make it work. The 350 has the axle housing and the 300 has the exposed axle, except for the very center of it. I don't know if they changed the whole swing arm or not to make it work. I doubt anything would be easy to make work between the two.

None of the 300's or 350's had the sideways engines, except for the 350 Rancher, but I think he is talking about the Fourtrax 350 or 350 Foreman. If I remember right, the first year of the 350, it was called Fourtrax, but the following year they changed the name to Foreman. The 300 has a transfer case, but a 350 don't. The carbs are different, but might could be made to work. The gas tank is completely different. The 350 has the gas tank under the seat and uses a fuel pump. The 300 has the tank in the normal place in front of the seat. The 350 has a solid front axle and the 300 has IFS with A-arms, unless it's an '88-'92 2 wheel drive, in which case it would have struts and lower A-arms only. Rear hubs are different and I believe front hubs are different too. I can't really think of anything that is the same.

You could get the parts through bike bandit.
