hmmmmm..I wonder where you learned this ??..lol. the pumps have two contacts on top of them, spring loaded, once they come part ?, unless your damn good ?..lmao, it won't go back together very well ! ( been there, done that !..lol ).Yup CBurt ^^^ an old fuel pump is a sealed unit with relay on top. Tear it apart to examine it just to see what's possible. New OEM pumps are still available and worth every £ or €?! LOL. I recommend against modifying the fuel system with vacuum style pumps on a cost basis alone.
I will pm you my address, you can arrange to have them picked up, thank you for the kind words bro !, please, no need to pay me !, just pay it forward, that's all I ask ?, we are a great bunch of members here, always willing to lend a word or help or parts ?, even if your asked how to hook up a tv for someone on here ?, and you know how ?, then by all means, tell them !. this is how I roll !. I will get them boxed up for you, and you can have them picked up here at my house, then you should be goldenShadetree you are the man!! Forever in your debt. Do you want to private mail me your address and I'll organise a courier to collect from you on Monday. Or if you don't want to go down that route in case I'm a catfish I think I can paypal you the money. I feel a donation would only be fair given how difficult these are to find so maybe PayPal is that way to go. Defo won't be euros I'm paying you with all this Brexit lol.
Thanks for the comments on the fuel pump I've noticed my Chinese one is making some racket!! I'll see how long it lasts and report back.
there is a sticky in the brake section made by me on how to bleed brakes. it sounds like you still have air in the lines ?, but until you go through my sticky ?, it's hard to say ?. i'd bet there is nothing wrong with your master cylinder. The saga continues. After Shadetree kindly sent across new cylinders I still haven't managed to get my front brakes sorted on my 350d and was hoping you guys could help.
Basically I can't seem to bleed the brakes, get the air out and keep any pressure in the system.
There are no leaks around the brakes or the lines themselves. I've tried bleeding them traditionally and reverse bleeding with a syringe. I can get the brakes working for a few pumps but as soon as I release the brake lever all pressure in the system escapes.
I think it may be my master cylinder but I know you guys will have first hand experience of this and any advice would be appreciated.
Is a rebuild kit the right way to go?
Cheers
