Yes, very good deal. I'd give you £400 for it unseen so long as it runs and transmission etc is OK ? I want a runner to restore, my 300 is almost finished (although there wasn't a lot to do to it) so looking at next personal project.
If no luck with the cylinders I'll check out the ones on this 350,but as I said, parts are very hard to get over here and I like to keep as much as possible. However, if you're stuck they're yours. Seems like parts are still much easier to find in the States, I was born in the wrong country I think. lol
wrong country, and wrong decade !..lmfaooooooo, ( ain't pay back a '' you know what '' ?!..lol.
Nah, decade was right. I've seen the sixties, seventies and eighties. All the good bits before all this politically correct rubbish came in, and not to mention all the health and safety rubbish along with the current claim culture. It's just "me me me" nowadays from Joe Public and "don't say this, don't do that" from Governments.

No Shady, we've seen the best this planet had to offer, it's downhill from here on in.
yep, we just get older from here on out !..lol.

That's not too bad a price Goober for a complete back plate and cylinders. Dare say it would be a lot more over here from a uk seller.
Parts for these can be an horrendous price in the uk. Mind you, to be fair some sellers have them up for sale for months due to lack of buyers. I suppose if you break a 350D for parts, then it takes 12 / 18 months to sell all the parts, you have to charge a decent price for them.

Sorry guys had a problem with the thread loading.
My mistake on the vin number I was looking in the right place but obviously called it the wrong thing. Is it on the U shaped square tube further to the front or the round bar behind does anyone know?
I'm beginning to realise this isn't going to be a quick fix and out in the fields like Rodp suggests.
Thanks for all the places where to find these. If Shadetree doesn't come back to me I will buy a complete unit as suggested.
I agree would have loved to have lived 30 years ago, music, bikes, cars everything we're better

The complete backing plate is a left hand I need a right hand ? Doesn't seem to be any others on eBay.
Sorry Shadetree due to Loading issues I hadn't seen your subsequent posts. As I say I'm happy to pay for units and postage if you have the parts and prepared to help a brother out?!!

Well, there's good news and bad news.

Good news is I found (made) time to whip o/s/f drum off.

Bad news is as pic, nothing inside, zilch, zero. Also notice there's no front diff

When bought, very cheap, all I was bothered about was the rear end, and that was good. Everything else was a bonus so never looked, just winched it on the trailer and away. Don't know what happened to the diff, looks like someone had front end trouble at some time and just stripped the front out. No obvious welding on front tube but drive shafts have been cut off at the outer joints.

This is just a donor machine, no intention of doing anything with it. My son wanted the axle for his 300 and I've kept the rest as parts for when I finally find a suitable 350D to rebuild.

Ah right that makes more sense. I take it these bikes are like hens teeth these days? Can't believe how lucky I've been. Was a forestry commission vehicle for years then sold to a tree surgeon now it's ended up with me.

They're getting rare over here, still quite a few about but good ones fetch decent money and rough ones are owned by youths who just want "sumfink fast innit dat gows frew muddy water easy". And they end up wrecked.
One on facebook he's been trying to sell for about £800, the jerk's got a picture on his own timeline (?) of it sat underwater in a cut while he's waiting hours for someone to tow him out. Next picture is muddy oil being drained out the engine.

And he wonders why he can't sell it

Ones needing work or, in particular, parts go for sensible money sometimes because of availability and price of parts. It's just a matter of waiting for a basically sound one needing restoration.

have you priced up parts yet? Don't bother with Chinese ones like the £20 fuel pumps etc, don't last 5 minutes. :icon_wink:

Haha Rod I can imagine just the people you're talking about! Plenty like that up my way!!
Fuel pump and filter were knackered on mine from dragging thru dirty fuel. Got the original filter but went off the Chinese pump as everything g else was real expensive. I shall see how long it lasts, I still have my old one if these are easy to overhaul?
