where are you located ?.Nothing on eBay but I'll keep a close eye. I seen some cylinders for much newer models that look pretty similar but have been told today from a local quad bike breakers that they wouldn't work.
a zerk, and a grease gun pops them out, but sense you used heat ?, you prob ruined the piston seal ?.I think they're toast. Can't get the pistons out, tried everything - heat, diesel, penetrating oil etc. The guy before me obviously had a good go without knowing what he was doing and the upper lip where the seal goes has been demolished.
yeah, that's too far for me to mail you some..lol.The UK which doesn't help. Fife Scotland to be exact
I've got some, some for a '87-'89, and I think I also have some from a '86 ?. if the members come on later, and they don't have what you need ?, then we'll see if I can get you what you need..ok ?.If you have some I will happily pay the international shipping worst case
thanks samUK !, you and your dad is who I had in mind..lol. remember though, if these places you speak of ^^^ > are dealers for new Honda parts ?, unless they stock NOS parts ?, they will be discontinued with them as well ?.Also, you could try asking rodp (my dad) on here, he's got some still fitted, the condition is unknown though as far as I'm aware. He bought it as a donor bike, some parts were already missing but try him, you may get lucky if you need other parts.
a lot of great members here, always willing to help outWow can't believe the response on this guys and sorry for my delay in responding. Thanks to everyone for getting back to me this forum is excellent!!
wrong country, and wrong decade !..lmfaooooooo, ( ain't pay back a '' you know what '' ?!..lol.Yes, very good deal. I'd give you £400 for it unseen so long as it runs and transmission etc is OK ? I want a runner to restore, my 300 is almost finished (although there wasn't a lot to do to it) so looking at next personal project.Rodp, ok no problem I hope you don't mind me asking.
Yes definitely finding it's harder to get parts than expected although it is a 30 year old Quad I suppose!!
All the plastics arent a priority at the moment but thought I would ask all the same.
Once I get the brakes sorted everything is in good working condition and I plan to get out on a few treks with it as it's my first quad then perhaps as you say look to trade it for something a bit more useable.
I managed to get it for £250 off a good friend so think I've got a good deal. I'll use any future profit to put back into the bike and get it looking as good as I can.
Thanks for all your advice!!!
If no luck with the cylinders I'll check out the ones on this 350,but as I said, parts are very hard to get over here and I like to keep as much as possible. However, if you're stuck they're yours. Seems like parts are still much easier to find in the States, I was born in the wrong country I think. lol
the rear differential ??..lol.Thanks Sam I'll hopefully get a chance tomorrow to tackle that. It's located on the back part of the swing arm (if that's what its called) between the two wheels?
yep, we just get older from here on out !..lol.Nah, decade was right. I've seen the sixties, seventies and eighties. All the good bits before all this politically correct rubbish came in, and not to mention all the health and safety rubbish along with the current claim culture. It's just "me me me" nowadays from Joe Public and "don't say this, don't do that" from Governments.wrong country, and wrong decade !..lmfaooooooo, ( ain't pay back a '' you know what '' ?!..lol.Yes, very good deal. No Shady, we've seen the best this planet had to offer, it's downhill from here on in.
lol, yeah, even I can't save that wheel cylinder !..lol. looks like the front wheel bearing went out ?, and the hub beat the crap out of it !..lol.Some pictures of the cylinder I've managed to remove, I think it's FUBAR but you guys are the experts
I've got them, I was waiting to see if rod was going to be able to step in ?, and help ya out ?, lets see what he's got for ya ?, then you can save a bundle on shipping..lol.The complete backing plate is a left hand I need a right hand ? Doesn't seem to be any others on eBay.
Sorry Shadetree due to Loading issues I hadn't seen your subsequent posts. As I say I'm happy to pay for units and postage if you have the parts and prepared to help a brother out?!!
once you get that one done ?, you will be ready for another project !..lol.Thanks guys I shall wait on hear from you Rod. I'd be happy with just the cylinders no need for the whole plate when mines is ok. I also have a rebuild kit on the way if I need it and new shoe kit ready to go.
guess this means i need to locate mine, and dig them out, and post a pic or two ..lol.Well, there's good news and bad news.
Good news is I found (made) time to whip o/s/f drum off.
Bad news is as pic, nothing inside, zilch, zero. Also notice there's no front diff
When bought, very cheap, all I was bothered about was the rear end, and that was good. Everything else was a bonus so never looked, just winched it on the trailer and away. Don't know what happened to the diff, looks like someone had front end trouble at some time and just stripped the front out. No obvious welding on front tube but drive shafts have been cut off at the outer joints.
I will be out in my shop some time Friday ( tomorrow here ), and put my hands on these I have floating around in there, and get some pic's of them for ya, and we can take It from there if your still interested in them ?. just let me know ?.Ah right that makes more sense. I take it these bikes are like hens teeth these days? Can't believe how lucky I've been. Was a forestry commission vehicle for years then sold to a tree surgeon now it's ended up with me.
np, will be out in my shop today, I will get you fixed upShadetree, if you don't mind and I shall forever be in your debt!!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Callum
