Hey everyone. I am at a loss. I have a 1986 Honda TRX 350 Foreman.
The issue I am having is when the fuel pump is connected and or a gravity fed fuel tank the carb will flood the engine.
Keep in mind this is probably the 600th carb I have rebuilt in my lifetime, so frustration is growing. I have completely rebuilt the carb from top to bottom with factory Honda parts. I even bought an adjustable float. Polished the seat for the new needle. When the carb is on the engine running with the bowl full of fuel it runs perfect. When I feed it gas with the fuel pump or gravity feed it will flood the engine and die acting like I am pulling the choke. If I regulate the fuel manually by pinching off the line it will run perfect. It will never overflow and leak out onto the ground. I also purchased another factory used carb and cleaned it and left all the original parts inside and that one also will do the same thing. I adjusted the valves, and the timing is perfect. I am at a loss. Everything points to needle and seat, but they are new and perfect. if I take the float bowl off and slightly push up on the float until it pushes in the spring-loaded needle part the fuel will stop and not come out. I have around 150-155 psi compression. I filled the intake ports with PB Blaster and let it sit overnight. In the morning it was gone. Will leaking intake valves cause this issue??? Any help is greatly appreciated. At this point the odds of 2 rebuilt carbs having the exact same issue is slim.
