I have been researching new tires for my fourtrax. It seems that 9" wheels are not too common. I was wondering if anyone has put 12" wheels on their older fourtrax. I would try to keep the same tire diameter, or maybe step up to a 26" tire. Tried looking for a 12" rim but the closest offset I could find was on a 7" wide at 2+5.

Anyone have any input or thoughts on this?

you have two problems with that atv, one: the lift can't be much at all, or the front tie rods will drag on the frame. two: if you go to big in diameter ?, the tire will rub the muffler, as they don't give you much room, which means, you would have to put spacers on the axle.

also, I don't think you will have enough front fender clearance for over size tires ?, I've slept sense then..lol.

I'll pop a 24" on the back of mine tomorrow and take a photo for reference. The tyre is on a 350d wheel, 300 fourtrax have more offset than 350d so I'd say 300 could be a better option IF the tyres clear the femders

The current tires on all of the trx250s we have are 25-12x9. I was hoping that going with a 26" tire would not change that too much. I have not looked too close. I see 25" tires all the time so I would be fine staying there. On Craigslist in my area I find 25-9x12 all the time, but that seems pretty narrow of a tire.

Ohh ok, pretty sure mine are 22's or 23's. As long as you can find an 11 or 12 inch wheel rim with the same offset as the 250 rims it should be fine. Remember shadetree' advice, make sure it clears the muffler.
