1986 Honda Fourtrax 200sx shifting problems

I recently noticed that when I shift to higher gears I can't shift down and this also happens after I ride in 3rd or 2nd for awhile. I eventually have to get off and push the quad forward. Whats going on? Im also new to the forums.

I got confused already... you have two threads started on similar (or same) issue and I can't understand what you are trying to say in either of them. Lets stick to just one thread for now, at least until its apparent what your issues consist of?

Got a factory service manual yet? If not you can get a copy HERE. Can you explain your clutch and shifting issues with a bit more detail? Why does pushing the bike help?

Thanks,

If you're trying to up or down shift when stationary and you have to rock the ATV to get it to shift that is normal behavior. If you can't shift while moving I would start by adjusting the clutch.

In your other thread you mentioned you had a "brand new clutch cable". This bike has a centrifugal clutch. No clutch cable. Or do you mean the reverse lockout cable?
