I inherited a gently used Fourtrax 350 that was well maintained and is mechanically sound. The issues that brought me here are cracking and breaking fenders. That and the previous owners seemed to misplaced most of the fasteners for the fenders.

On the forum today I learned that the cycle country plow with the manual lifting lever is the only plow made for this ATV. The lever smacks the front fender and has left a crack there. Some folks here have fitted winches to the '86 Fourtrax 350 and Ill do some more studying on that while I am here.

My next big projects on this machine are to replace the rear fender I ripped off while plowing snow yesterday and get some new tires. I'll be getting tires that fit the OEM wheels.

After I get those repairs done I hope to ride the trails here in NW Pennsylvania. Can't ride on the roads here yet. Some townships are looking to change that.

Dude same thing happened to my front fender with my CC plow lift kit!
I hot glued a piece of plastic to stiffen it up so the crack won’t run. And replaced that crappy system with a newer plow system. I bought the manual lift arm on fleabane for $50 and the plow Assy at a dealer auction.

I really like the mounting point on your plow system. Is it just u-bolts holding it on the frame? It looks like the lifting mechanism is right behind the front wheels. Does that make it easy to lift the plow?

My lifting mechanism is on a pivot point attached to the front frame. Zero mechanical advantage to that set up. It feels like you are lifting 2x the weight of the plow.

To keep things relatively cheap I'd rather keep the plow I have and then put on a winch to lift the plow. I am pretty sure my wife would be able to run that set up :yeahbaby01: BUT I found out on this forum I'd need to fabricate a mounting system to attach a winch.

Your photo gives me a bunch of mods I now want to do to with the front and rear racks and the wheel well reflector! Can't be too safe.

I'll post some before and after pics when I get the new rear fender and tires. After seeing your pic (which I saved) my 350 needs some TLC!

Thanks. You will need to look for Cycle Country Winch Mount 25-1050. There was one on fleabane but I see it sold–otherwise you can fabricate a mount using 1/4 steel bar stock. I can give you the measurements. I have not installed mine yet because I couldn’t get it to fit my accessory bumper. I will bump an old thread for you about this kit.
Cycle Country was purchased by Kolpin and unfortunately do not identify any parts offered for 92 and older.
I took off my old manual lift cause the bell crank shaft was rubbing the frame. I got a newer modified pushtube fitted for the drive-over manual lift.
It snowed last night so I will get it out for you.

@ hodge5 I'll take some pics when it warms up here. The rear fender is is rough shape but it runs like a champ!
@Goober You are definitely working ahead of me on the plow and the winch. I thank you for being able to benefit from your experience.
The old plow lift is rubbing the frame and I need to fix that ASAP. Whether it is the manual shown above or the winch depends on my ability to find the parts. thanks for reviving that old post on the winch mount.

I am a bolt on kinda guy. I have very limited experience welding and no equipment to do so. My mechanic might fabricate a mounting plate if I really needed it welded together.

Try using some heat shrink tubing on that Bell crank rod and try to adjust the plow travel so the handle doesn’t strike your fender

I have since made a friend who welds really well; I need to talk to him about building a few of these kits. Looks simple.

Welcome, and congratulations on the 350! I want one, pretty bad.
Can you post some photos of it? Love pictures.
Hodge5 Pictures finally. Plowing in this cold weather has been hard on the old girl.

My wife is insistent on replacing the rear fender. I am a very lucky guy!

I also pulled the trigger on new tires on Monday. ITP Mudlite AT for $55 each new. I have seen reviews for and against those tires on this forum. I think I am goiing to like them. I really wanted to keep the original wheels.

Goober,

I've tried everything but shrink wrap tubing on that damn rod. I'll give it a shot when I can find a 2 foot section of the stuff. Everything I tried bound the system up or came close enough to the exhaust to melt.

I am going to use your pictures, diagrams and model numbers to mount a winch and avoid the bell crank all together if I can. My plow and the push rods are solid and work well.

I wondner if the travel on the universal lifting mechanism gets in the way and if it is easy to lift the plow. While my current set up has it's faults I can use my body weight and legs to bring the plow up.

If your exhaust is getting too hot, you can always wrap that section in a fiberglass wrap to help keep areas a bit cooler.

Uploads keep timing out. I have a double DSL line to the house so I don't think this is on my end. Will try later. Time to make the donuts.
Thanks TBRider for the quick replies this morning!
