I pulled my uncle's old ATC 250es out of a barn this summer and the throttle cable snapped weeks later. I replaced the cable and the bike idled right with a bit of finicking. But when I went to turn the handlebars to the left the bike would rev up and when I turn the bars right it dies. is there any way to fix this or is it something to live with.

double check routing of your cable make sure its not getting pinched when installing fuel tank . I am assuming its the same lenght as the one you removed. Make sure when adjusting throttle free play you have play when bars are fully turned left and right than with throttle play set than set idle. I have seen time and time again guys setting idle by abjusting the cable and not adjusting it on carb itself.
