I have got a 1984 honda Odyssey and it has a older motor than what should be it has a points ignition motor but when I look at the VIN it says it's a 1984 when they switched from points to cdi now I don't have a coil and condenser and do not feel like paying 89.69 for one now it came with a extra engine and parts and I have a plate that has a pulse generator instead of points but will my magneto work work to fire the pulse generator

I have not messed with any of those models, but it would be safe to say, keep the motor all oem. sooooooooo, which ever motor you decide to install in it ?, then thats what electronics should be put back on it.

You didn't say which size motor is in it? Is it a 250 Odyssey? A 350? Verify that it is a 1984 frame (10th VIN# character) too.
