I have an 83 185S with a no spark condition. The ignition coil is new and the source coil test good. However, the pulse coil is only producing 300mv. Does anyone have a running 185S that can test the pulse coil output (at pull-start speed) and report back? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I can't find any info on that pulse gen, but 300mv sounds a bit low to me too.

The service manuals only give resistance measurements for the pulse coil. The pulse coil is new and tests okay. However, if the magnet on the rotor is weak, all the good pulse coils in the world will not produce enough voltage to initiate the coil output. Thanks for the post, all info is received well and you never know when someone comes up with what you completely overlooked.
