So I've got the gear reduction in and I started slowly shaving the speed sensor down trying to get everything to work. Speedometer started reading but I can't get it to read a gear position. It just has a - or it'll give me a code for the shift angle sensor. Replaced that sensor tried a new shift motor. And I've shaved the speed sensor all the way down to the point of touching the gear. I've got one more speed sensor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Who made the reduction? That would be who I would call, they should be plenty knowledgeable about it.

When you put the rear cover on, did you get the gear position switch properly aligned with the slot on the back of the shift drum? Sounds like you might have it 180 deg out.
