Sorry if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find a thread on it. I have a 2017 Rancher FA2. I was looking at adding an assist light to the handlebar. Looking over the schematics and parts, it seems that nearly almost all parts of the 2017 Forman (non-rubicon) is interchangeable with the Rancher. Anyone tried this. No, I do not want an aftermarket bar light and I did not buy the Foreman because I wasn't spending the extra $1,600 when the only other item on my wish list was the assist light on the handlebars.

My rancher has the same display as the non-rubicon foreman. I don't see why this project wouldn't almost be a plug and play. I would have thought more people would have done this but can't find anything on google or youtube. I have even wondered if the left front fender with the storage compartment of the foreman will fit the rancher. If so you could have a 12v accessory connection, left front fender storage, and an assist handlebar light all factory honda for less than $150.

Well the 12v socket is in the black cover piece in between the two fenders, the flat spot is there on the Rancher just needs the hole drilled, the socket is available as an accessory. I wouldn’t doubt the fender swaps too. Guys used to put the old foreman pods on Rincons, I’ve seen Foreman 450 pods on Rancher 350’s. I don’t want to tell you to buy the parts thinking it will work because I’ve never done it, so I don’t know 100%. But if it was my own machine I’d take the chance on it.

I am ordering the parts to complete this project tomorrow. Can anyone with a Foreman tell me does the wiring for the assist light come straight off the left shift/light switch? I can't find anywhere else a power connection for this light would be.

I think earlier models run off the regular light switch and later models can be switched off separately so you don't blind yourself when carrying loads on the front rack.
