We bought a freshly rebuilt motor from a 2014 420 to go in our 07 which was shot. Had to swap the output driveshaft with 07 and rewire the stator plug to 07 (14 was split with 3 yellow on one connector and the rest on a smaller connector.) Now, it's getting random fire not enough to crank, and will only turn the starter when the right brake handle is slightly squeezed in. Swapped the 3 yellow wires around, the others are color coded, same thing. Tried starting fluid, got a backfire, put starting fluid up. Am I missing something somewhere? Sounds like some wires are crossed somewhere since the brake has to be partially in for the starter to turn on, but random fire? Anybody have any tips or suggestions?
