any suggestions on how to make my 500 foreman have more power? the foreman moves the tires fine but would like some more power without dropping tire size. Any aftermarket parts i could buy and throw on for it?

A gear reduction is about all you can do on the 05-11 Foremans. You can't big bore them because they'll overheat due to thin cylinder walls. HL used to offer a 506 kit but no longer have it.

An exhaust will just make it loud and obnoxious, with no power gain.

So if you want to run big tires get a gear reduction. If you just want HP you're going to have to buy a different bike.

I have an 06, two 07's, and two 09's. They're great work rigs, but there's not a way to get more power out of them unless you want to do a lot of custom engine work. When you do a completely custom engine, when anything goes wrong you get to spend custom engine money again fixing it (thousands).

What exactly are you trying to do? Bigger tires or ?

I can tell if I’m going up a steep hill it lags and doesn’t have much power. I am running vampire super swamper 29in and it shouldn’t lag much. Don’t know if I’m having engine issues or what

HAHA< don't know who told you running 29 inch tires shouldn;t cause loss of power, but who ever did tell you this lied thru there teeth to you
going to 29" tires, you altered the stock gearing, and that robbed a LOT , NOT a little, a LOT of power from your atv, IF you wish to get back to STOCK like power, only thing you can do is add a gear reduction to TRY and get back to stock gear ratio's that are now GONE from them larger tires
HONDA atv's make very small amounts of HP<> and there is NO easy or cheap way to get more HP in them as said above
you'd be better off selling this atv and BUYING a atv with more HP that can handle this sized tire, NOT what you want to hear, but its honest advice
honda 500 CC atv's have like 32 hp, other brands 500cc atv's have like 50+ hp?
larger cc motors would STILL be better for 29 inch tires, as even on the other brands 500'
s 29 inch tires is ASKING a lot of ANY 500 CC atv on stock gearing
get into a 800+ cc motor and well, you THEN have extra hp to loose for them BIG heavy tires! till then IMO< without altering gearing to MAKE things work with tall tires, your just wasting your MONEY and going to be disappointed in what you end up with on STOCK gearing

@mrbb is spot on, 29” rubber just isn’t happening in a Honda without a gear reduction. You want somewhere in the region of 40 to 60% gear reduction to run 29/30 inch tyres.
Depends what your riding style is really, mud, trails a bit of both....?

Definitely need a gear reduction. I have 27's on my 2 09's and 28's on my 06, and the 06 needs a gear reduction even though they are light 28's.

Stock tires are 25". You went up 4 tire sizes. Your bike should be a total dog with those tires and no gear reduction.

Go on bookface and look up Don Oglesby. He can hook you up with a gear reduction that will get your gearing back right where your machine will pull.

did you ever drive this atv on stock tires?
there is a HUGE loss in power compared to stock
your poor motor must be working its a$$ off to get any where LOL

you must live in rather level area, you wouldn';t go any where here on stock gearing and 29 inch tires
as I always say, POWER loss is a personal thing and what one person will be OK with others would not

I really have no issues at all. It will run around 45 to 50 easy it’s just when I’m trying to drive up steeper hill sides. I will look into getting gear reduction done
When you contact a dealer be VERY specific when you tell them your type of riding, it would be a costly mistake to buy the wrong reduction.
Take into consideration that a 50% gear reduction will cut your top end speed down to 30-35mph, however will pull outlaws in most (not all) muddy/boggy conditions. 30% will pull the tyres and be ideal for some mud and trail riding, with a 30% in muddy/boggy conditions you’d be limited to a tyre similar to a mudlite, any more aggressive and it will simply bog down. I believe the small reduction for a 500 currently on the market is 35% actually.

Hope that helps.
