Recently I bought a used foreman 500 4x4. it ran great with zero issues for a month. Last weekend I sunk it being stupid and now it runs poorly. Before I sunk it the foreman would crank up instantly with no choke or throttle pressed in but now to get it to crank and stay running I have to have choke fully up and tap the throttle till it stops sputtering and idles? Also it will sputter and lose power and gain it again, it will sputter and pop and then pick right back up and run again. What could this issue be? after I sunk it I changed the oil 3 times to make sure no water was in there as well as the diffs. I also changed the air filters after the ride, but I have not taken a look at the carb or anything. Any advice or help? Please and thank you

well first off, ANY TIME you sink a motor, you get DIRT and crap in motor along with the water, NO water hole is clean
second flushing a motor does NOT remove the crap that gets brought in with the water
ONCE you sink a motor and ONLY flush it 1 or a 100 times, its a GAMBLE on IF you will get by or soon have issue's
from just eating a top end to catastrophic failure
same goes for your diffs ,
ONLY true way to Clean a motor is split cases and actually CLEAN it, JUST so you know this
yes some sink motors and flush and never have issue's but same goes the other way, many sink and flush and have major damage in short order!
its a gamble, like playing the lottery!

NOW< when you SINK a motor, you most likely sucked in water thru the carb, and as such, you most likely need to clean your carb
, also make sure your air filter is clean, washed, dried and re oiled
and I SURE hope you were changing oil filters after every flush!
if not, , another oil change and filter is a GOOD idea here!

LAST you very well MIGHT have water and DIRT and crao in your tank
SO< that tends to mean you need to drain and clean tank
failure to do this can , make cleaning your carb useless, as if you clean carb DON"T clean tank, any crap in tank will soon be in carb again, causing possible running issue's again!

crap always flows down stream LOL

Mrbb is right. I mean go ahead and clean your carb and maybe even run some Heet through. But there could be water still in your engine. If you clean everything and it's still acting that way then you got some water/dirt in your engine and you need to take it to someone who knows their way around it to clean it before it gets worse. Hope this helped.

Definitely clean that carb and get the dirt out of the bowl. Check the vent lines off the carb and check the gas tank for debris as well.
At some point you gotta split that engine and get the dirt out because over time things will go south.
