1 piece left over

I recently got 2002 300ex given to me in pieces. I put bike back together with 1 piece of plastic left over.
It is black, 4inches long, 3.25 wide, has half circle cut out on 1 end with 2 3/8 holes, and slightly angled on 1 end. Does anyone have any idea where this goes?
