Ive got an 09 rancher at 4x4, im wondering if anyone knows what weight the honda genuine gear oil is for these atvs? and also what have you guys been putting in the front and rear??? Im an amsoil guy so if they make it ill put amsoil in it......

i use 80w in mine..but..the amsoil i think your talking about is 80w-90..go to thier websight..they list all thier products..they recommend the amsoil marine in the differentals..because it stands up to 10% water in it..anyway..check it out..see what you think.

Honda gear oil should be fine. I just use whatever brand I can get at Advance auto parts and I've never had any problems. As long as you keep it clean and check it often to make sure no water is in it, I believe you will be fine.

alright i appreciate it using marine gear oil sounds kinda strange...wonder if i should just go with honda?
the only reason they recomend marine oil is because it holds up against water..which...is the worst thing you can get in the front and rear diff in your bike.

Yeah, I actually use marine grease in my wheel bearings. Anything designed for marine use, just repels water better.
