by the way i just joinned this site, and have found some very good info thanks to everyone. i have a foreman 500 4x4 09 manual on the floor solid rear end basic bike. anyway its not even 3 weeks old and allready had something break inside the trans. i think not sure it could be the rear end. when its in gear 1st or rev. it makes a very bad noise like something in it snaped. but the tires still want to spend so i dont believe its the drive shaft or the rear end. has anyone had this promble or know what could be going on. any help would be great thanks.

You may have broken a universal joint on the drive shaft or knocked some teeth off on the splines. what were you doing when it broke?

If the joint snapped in the right place you would bind both pieces up and yes it would try to rotate but eventually it would slip. The CV joints are designed to b the weakest link in the drivetrain I would think to keep you from destroying your gearbox. I would raise the whole bike off the ground on jack stands and rotate each wheel individually in neutral listening for any odd noises then in gear (Which will be a bit more difficult) doing this chances are you will find the culprit. I would also check the main drive shaft from the rearend to the gearbox, they have universals as well I'm not sure how the front is set-up.

Trx2five0. U think the tires would still want to turn if the universal joint was broke? One thing I forgot at the same time the motor was shaking really bad
