i was riding my rancher the other day and decided to see how fast it would go so i opened it up all the way, well only holding it for a few minutes wide open i noticed it started to cut out and lose power. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Could it have been the rev limiter?? Would it go away backing off the throttle just a little?

You are on the rev-limiter. Safety device just for that purpose.

Yea.. it cuts the power when I hit 81/82 km/h. Seems normal to me.

Yeah, it sounds like you're hitting the rev limiter.

yea as soon as i let off gas it goes away from what i remember, thanks guys for the info. its just weird cause my 96 honda fourtrax never did it

Rev limiters are to keep you from over revving your engine and damaging it. I think most ATVs have rev limiters and all fuel injected automobiles have them as well.

top speed is around 62 mph if all stock i clocked one with my fourman three weeks ago rev limiter sounds great his did it at top end

yea mine does that .. just back off throttle just a smidge and it wont do it

Top speed on mine is 52mph and now with bigger tires it's around 48 which is fine with me cuz I like to play in the deep stuff
