Just bought this 90 to fix up for my grandson and realized the rear brakes don’t work properly. I have taken off everything all the way to the brake drum but can’t get it to move. Any advise on how to get it off?

You can't get the brake arm to move? Or you can't get the drum to move?

The brake drum is stuck to the axle
Are you able to connect a slide hammer to it? Or post a picture of overall how it's stuck? Lots of times pictures help others here think of ideas that will work.

The brake drum is stuck to the axle
Had same problem recently on similar bike. The experts here helped me. Sounds like the brake pads are out and pressing against the drum and you have to get those pads to retract to get the drum off.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Look at the drum where it attaches to the axle. Is there a seal of some sort there? If there is and it's a rubber type it must come out first or you'll never get that drum off.

2. If no seal is holding the drum on, reattach the brake cam lever (with the spring) and try to move it back and forth with your hand. If it doesn't move or moves very little, take a rubber mallet and gently tap it back and forth. Then GENTLY tap around the drum. Alternate this process over and over. When the brakes finally release you'll hear a slight "pop" and that drum will slide off.

The brake cam is usually the culprit. It seizes over time and with moisture.

Please don't be tempted to get out the big hammer and whack on that drum. If you dent it or bend the edge you'll pay at least $150.00 for a new one. Ouch!

As @wheelsquad said, photos are helpful. Keep us posted, please.

I drilled and taped four holes in the drum, put All thread in each long enough to reach past the end of axle drilled four holes in a steel plate that matched the hole pattern in the drum and placed it over the end of the axle then put Nuts on the all thread and used an impact driver to pull it off.

Thanks for letting us know! Hope the rest of the repair goes well for you.
