It could be possible but I think if that was the issue that it would also do it when in gear?
Looks like I found the problem, but is the tensioner also bad? I included a video and it looks like it is moving it and out a little. It is just because it is maxed out? Here's a video. Lol about to pull the clutch cover off so hopefully I see a stretched timing chain!!! :grin
Alright looks like I will be buying a OEM tensioner and chain then. So you think that's what's causing the ticking it sure seems like it and I know not to turn it over without oil but just got too excited that I found the problem. Lolyep..chain is shot, and tensioner is not looking good either, replace both of them. oh, please dont crank it over like your doing without oil in the engine !..lol.Looks like I found the problem, but is the tensioner also bad? matter of fact, after you install the new chain, and tensioner , go back and re-adjust the valves.
