A friend of mine has an 08 foreman 500 that he is having a problem getting started. It has only been sitting for about 6 weeks and had sta-bil added prior to that. It will fire with the aid of the primer but will not stay running. Carb need cleaning?? I suggested seafoam but it will not stay running long enough to run it thru.

Thanks guys I will pass on the info. On another topic, do I have to remove my gas tank on my 03 rincon to adjust the valves?

Yes, I understood that he was asking if he had to remove the gas tank, but I just posted the procedures so that he could see all the plastic and everything that needed to be removed.

Thanks guys, I have the shop manual and it shows the exact thing that helmut sent me. I just didn't read it before asking the question. Valve adjustment is tomorrow's agenda. My main problem is that my pull rope broke quite awhile ago, I am going to pull the cover off tomorrow. Can the engine be rotated with a ratchet with the cover off so that I can get it to TDC? My buddy with the 500 pulled the carb today and cleaned all jets, put it back together and runs like a champ, thanks to the conformation. I will let you guys know how the adjusting of mine goes. Look forward to riding sunday. 69quadracer, if you are on are you planning on riding the grizz this weekend anywhere?

Yeah, just take that pull rope cover off and turn the crankshaft by putting a socket on the bolt in the end of it. You could probably even turn it with a screwdriver by sticking it through the cut out notches in the pulley that the pull rope engages.

Thanks, are you on a popo forum anywhere? I have a 93 350L and I am getting ready to do a full engine teardown on it. Counterbalancer is shot.
No, I've not made it to any Polaris forums. I don't have much experience with a Polaris.
