Was wondering what the actual top speed would be... I've seen a lot of different numbers on websites. It's stock, keep in mind.

I also was wondering about how far you can get on a tank of gas... That'd be good to know before I got too far out into the woods. Hahaha

Well i would say the speeds would be some where in the 45 to 50 MPH range depending upon rider and weight. as far as the fuel consumption is concerned that too will depend on your riding habits, eg. if you stay in it all the time yes you will run out but if your joy riding around enjoying the scenery then you may last a bit longer. but to answer your question....."how long will a tank of gas last?" well...lol until it runs out. lol JK just hasd to throw that in.... welcome to the forums. T-rex or some of the other 250EX riders can probably help you out on the exacts of the fuel.

I figured around 50-55 MPH, because I was on the road one day and I was running about 55 and there was a guy behind me on a 250EX and he was pretty much keeping up with me.

250ex

Just did 30 miles easy, at LOST TRAILS, in the Pocono's,Pa., and at that place we're running our quads extremely hard! We're talking cimbing hills and decending hills with boulders, mud bogging, pond running, running power lines,etc........you get the point. My 250x usually has about 1/2 tank left over when done.I have a 12:1 piston all else is stock, and my buddy wants to try drag racing my 250x against his 660 raptor, to see if my quad can keep up on a flat straight away? Is he riding his quad right? LOL!!!!!!!!

My old Recon topped out at 45 when it was brand new, so anywhere around 50 sounds good. You should be able to ride most of the day on a tank, I never ran out on my recon, and i'm sure the tanks are around the same size. They don't suck down very much fuel compared the bigger bore machines.

My wife and I rode today---topped the tanks off before we left, and rode probably 25-30 miles on about 1/4 tank of gas. I was amazed---those little 250's can go a long, long ways on a tank of gas. Of course, we don't ride fast, so that probably helps....

I would'nt go much more than about 50 miles before turning back. You can ride a good 6 hrs +, on the trails. As for the speed question, without whining the piss out of it, I cruise at about 40 mph on my 06 250ex. My son's crf 70 can keep with me; I'm in 5th, and he only has 3 speeds. The trade off is that the 250ex is an excellent trail bike. I'ts light, agile, and has just enough power to go where many other quads, and bikes are unable to go, with exception to heavy mud hills, deep snow, and very- tight dirt bike trails.
