My wifes Recon is a maunal shift. She has a hard time of shifting it sometimes. I've rode it an noticed it is a little stiff but I'm a big fat boy and she isn't. Just wondering if there is something that I can adjust to make it shift easier.
Try adjusting the clutch free play. It's a bolt or stud with a locknut on it. It should be located on the front of the engine on the clutch cover. After you loosen the locknut, you will need a flat screwdriver to turn it.
Loosen the locknut. Slowly turn the stud counterclockwise until you fill resistance. Then turn it clockwise 1/4 turn. Now, hold the stud and tighten the locknut down.
