Sorry newbie here! Conditions- riding in fourth; 4x4 engaged (Ontario snow & ice); trying to outrun my crazy labrador retriever across the frozen lake....So, I toggle it into 5th... Seemed to go into 5th gear. display confirms 5th gear..yet I start to lose ground on dumb dog because "there is no acceleration"... just bought used and I don't have manual to refer to...

Was it hard pack or powder you were in? Could be as simple as clutch or carb adjustment or that the dog took you off the line and you missed a shift at the 100 foot mark..LOL <<Welcome to the forums>>

I was in powder (very cold -25) approx. 12" on the lake...I was going about 30 Km/hr when I shifted into 5th gear. At that point, I lost accelleration quickly and toggled back down into 4th with no problem... I'll try again this coming weekend and see if I can replicate the issue. Maybe I was just not going fast enough; too much drag with the snow. I contacted the previous owner and he states that there was never any issues with the machine.
