The only thing I can get this machine to do is shift from neutral to first or reverse. Trying to figure out what is going on. Sometimes it will come out of it but won't stay that way. So what's going on with it

Which exact model is yours? I'm assuming Foreman 500, either footshift (TRX500FM) or Electric Shift (TRX500FE). Doesn't sound like a Rubicon (TRX500FA).
