also if your getting fuel in the air box, from say a float sticking, odds are VERY high you also have fuel in your oil which can lead to bigger costly problems, so I would be checking your oil real FAST to see if it smells like fuel, and if so, be removing and cleaning fixing carb and THEN doing a oil change and filter change REAL soon, leaving fuel in oil in motor can dry out seals and bearings
like said above, if the fuel tank has crap in it(happens more hen many think) if you JUST clean carb, and NOT tank and fuel lines/peacock , you will just end up with a dirty carb again as that crap flows from tank/lines back into carb all over again
as they say crap flows down stream, so silly to clean in the middle and expect things to stay clean?
