I have a 05 Honda 400ex its running hot I have have the carb clean and I had it rebuild at my local honda shop the bike idle fine and runs good just get super hot real quick I'm running a 150 main and 38 pilot does anyone know what could be making it run so hot

Question, Do you have a bore kit? I know that the 40cc bore kit (bigger piston) are known for running hot. I have the 16cc bore kit and no problems, that's why I went with the 16cc.

I Not a expert on quad I know a lot but not all so all the information I get I will check out now the timing how would I check that I know where it located would you check to see if it on a t on the side of bike and it doesn't have a bore kit on it everything stock on quad

How do you know it's running hot? It is after all an air cooled engine. They will get hot at Idle over 200 degrees is normal. .. Swap the 38 slow jet for a 42 and back the fuel screw out 1/4 turn more.
