If you check all what's been suggested and the engine hasn't been run short of oil then it could be the bolts drifted out of the flywheel and stalled up on the stator. This can happen on the 500 hydrostatic and the 650 when the bolts haven't had threadlock on them from the factory. Also I have seen a couple break one of the mains bearing and lock the crankshaft.
I do hope it's neither of my suggestions for your sake.
