I'm having trouble with my 03 rancher es starter. I turn the key on, push the starter button and all I hear is a "click" from the selenoid. I have a brand new battery and am trying to decide if it might be the selenoid, starter button or the starter. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you hear a click then it's not the switch. Find the solenoid and push the start button and rap the solenoid with a screw driver. It might be stuck. If that makes it start, then swap the solenoid.

If that doesn't do anything, then use a jumper cable and jump directly from the battery to the starter. If it does not turn, it's the starter. If it DOES turn, then it's still likely that solenoid.

I agree with Pain. You can also jump the two posts on the solenoid with an old screwdriver. If it starts or turns the starter, then the solenoid is, more than likely, bad.

Had the same problem recently found out the solenoid have to be replaced after replacing it works fine and starts fast.

I'd agree with everyone as well...i'd also look into the brushes in your starter. But if your only gettin a "click"....i would agree w/ that it's the solenoid
