I'm going to look at a 03 foreman rubicon 500 with 200 hours and 1553 miles the thing is clean. Is there anything I should look for that could be messed up ? Never had a 500 before so idk much about em. Photos attached

I would avoid the 01 to 04 Rubicon's and here is why: http://www.hondaatvforums.net/forums/repair-maintenance/76538-rubicon-hondamatic-rebuild.html

The 05 to 14's don't have that issue though.
I don’t mean to highjack your thread here, it may help you too though...

2013 Foreman auto with electronic shift... Spotted one rather cheap but it won’t shift gears, what are the usual causes? Expensive fix? Or... A PITA and just wait for a better one to turn up?
Here's your path, Sam: https://www.google.com/search?q=sit...aatvforums.net+electric+shift+troubleshooting

If you need to seriously search for something on the forum, this is usually the route I go, forcing Google to search just this forum. Works better for me than the site search tool.

Oops, I just re-read your post and must have missed "auto or" the first time I read it and thought you were talking about a standard Foreman. But yep if it is "auto or es", then it is a Rubicon. 2nd generation hondamatic. Similar to the 03 but not identical or plagued with the same grenading problems.
