have an '02 rancher 350 fourtrax, stuck in 3rd gear, won't shift electrically or with manual shift, any suggestions welcome.

when you say manually, do you mean the emergency tool? Have you checked the clutch adjustment?

thanks fellows, yes i meant with the emergency tool, cannot get it out of third gear, with buttons, or emergency tool,haven't checked clutch adjustment, will this cause that to happen?, and noo, there is nothing flashing, on display

Hard to tell but worth checking out. If there aren't any error codes [flashing display] and if it won't come out of 3rd with the tool, and the clutch is adjusted properly, then you're probably looking at taking it to the shop unless you can crack it open yourself, but that's just a guess.

Try rocking the bike back and forth while shifting manually.

well i brought it to local atv shop and left it, we both tried rocking it back and forth,and i also installed a new battery, but still, we couldn't get it out of 3rd gear, soooo, guess he'll have to go into it.

sounds like the shift gear on the end of the barrel has a broke pin or the bolt that holds it on has backed out,, you will need a clutch puller to get to it,,,use a 3 finger puller and put a big hose clamp around it to keep it in place,, if you dont have the right tool
