need help in tear down of swingarm bearings,cant seem to get axle apart!

this is pretty simple..it involves backing the outer nut off to expose a c clip that will need to be removed after the c clip is removed the lock nut will slide off the end of the axle..then the axle will slide out the end of the carrier.

What exactly are you having trouble with. I ride a 400ex and I have manual. carriers are similar I can read what it says and let you know. Do you have a manual?

Have jam nut loose,Nut by axle shaft wont come loose,Have no manual at this time.

The rear axle removal is rather simple. The axle nut that holds it on is a reverse thread, make sure you are turning it in the right direction. Put your quad in gear to help hold the axle from turning.

Agree^^^ there is a snapring under that lock nut

Had chain off from front,Used prybar to hold it.I will put chain back on,I'm going the right way-left hand tread!

look through the nov 2009 issue and it will give you pics and tips

Did you get the snapring off?

srew the locknut towards the swingarm or brake rotor to reveal the snapring. once you get the snapring off screw the lock nut the other way and remove it. then tape the axle out with a rubber hammer

dont see a snapring,I remove whole swingarm,Going to take it to work on it.We have a vice,
