Have a fellow user in the UK who needs a fuse box cover for his 02 450ES.

SamUK was nice enough to send me a picture, and his picture looks identical to an 05-11 Foreman 500 fuse box cover. I happen to have a 500 Fuse box that I don't mind robbing the fuse box cover off of, but want to make sure it will fit before I mail it to the UK (already sent one that didn't fit).

Anyone happen to have access to a late 450 and an air cooled 500 that can tell me if the fuse box lids are the same?

If nobody knows for certain I’m heading to my local Honda dealership tomorrow to collect some parts, he’ll let me have a nose on the system, maybe the part numbers match up, I don’t know.

as far as I know, all the fuse box lids are the same. even a lid from an old trx350 should work. honda did not change the lids, they may have changed the fuse box a tad ?, but as far as I know..all the lids are the same.

there is no part numbers for the fuse box bro. the fuse box is made into the wire harness, its not a separate part of the harness..as well as the fuse box lid.

I have had 7 450 now including parts bikes , my latest build didn't have a fuse box cover , I started digging thru parts , I found there are at least two different fuse box covers for the 450's between 1998 and 2004 , one style has clips on the ends , one style don't , they don't interchange
I never noticed any of them were diff ?, was it because the lid clip part was snapped off ?..hmmm.

@fishfiles , yep, you are correct !..I just looked up the 1998 trx450es, and the fuse box lid does NOT have the clips on the lid , but !..you can buy just the lid !..lol.

sooooooooooo sam, depending on what year you have ?, and i'm sure its a 2003..right ?..lol. you can't buy just the lid..you would need the whole wire harness. I might have an extra lid with the clips..i'll have to dig through my stash of parts :).

98-00 has jobclios and is more of a square shape, 01-04 has clips and has the corners rounded off, also, 98-00 has a mseperate fuse box that can be unplugged from the harness, 01-04 does not.

Thanks fishfiles and shady, it’s not for me though it’s for @Chalkymon If you do have an 01-04 fuse box lid he’d be very grateful indeed.

Significant difference in length & depth between covers mate. Also corner profile differs as some types (like mine) have rounded corners not sharp edge type.

I seen the 1998's are different, you can even buy the lids for them on the '98 trx450..did not check after that year ?, but I know on 2003 you have to buy the whole harness.
