01 Honda TRX500 foreman

Hello all, got a question, just got a 01 Honda 500 4x4 Rubicon, runs real good, when going from neutral to reverse it shifts smooth, when going from reverse to any gear the shifter seems to lock, have to turn the bike off, restart it in neutral and go to drive. neutral to drive and low drive seem fine and from drive to neutral seem fine. is this just an adjustment? Thanks

i'm guessing this is a auto tranny ?..not sure how you can go from reverse..to 1 st..without going into neutral ?..is the bike idling to fast ?..sometimes the transmission wont shift very well if this is the case..sorry i couldn't be more of a help..i'm old school atv mech..lol

The Rubicon has the Hondamatic CVT tranny. Here is a link to a site that shows how it works.
