Hey stu5969, thanks for getting back with me. I got a manual shortly after I bought my Rancher. Several people have recommended several different things to try and Did them. After trying everything, and what the manual said to do, I'm still stuck. I checked the connections and added dielectric greas. The only one that had corrosion was under the front left fender( a red one). I'm pretty sure it's the one that goes to the sensor on the bottom backside of the crank case. Like I said in the previous message, initially when I messed with it everything worked…for a second. It let me do the initial set up and everything. Well I traced the wire from the sensor and its in the same harness(sub engine) that goes to the shift switches/sensors. So I tore into it and u would'nt believe how damp it was. I had no ideal that much water could get into it. But do u think that sensor and wire harness could b what's throwing my quad and ECM outta wack? Let me know what u think. Thank u, ttyl

Hey stu5969, Manny suggested I get in touch with u because u might b able to help me with my issue. I've got a 06 Rancher 400AT. I washed it after a ride one day, leaving the key on so the fan could run if needed( stupid move). Afterwords it started but acted like it was in 5th. I did the code retrieval and it was a 12(faulty ECM, control motor). I replaced the ECM. Then it blinked a 5 then 6. Did the whole trouble shooting process and everything checked out and pointed to faulty ECM. I noticed the oil temp censor plug and wire was kinked. Doctored it, plugged it back in, everything seemed ok. Did the initial setup, road around the house then -- started blinking again. Sayin a 12, again. Do u have any ideal how I can find out what's going on? I think there's possibly a short somewhere. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you
