Did you slide the end of the float needle into the slot in the float before you put the float back in? If not, that's probably why it's sticking up higher than before. The float has a little slot or opening that the end of the needle slides back into to attach the needle to the float.
The rubber tip of the float needle goes down into the carb.
I have both front brake assembly's. the one side has brand new brake shoes. less then 5 miles on them. the other side has a brand new brake drum seal with less then 5 miles on it. both are in great working shape. i will sell them to you for $140 shipped to your door....thats the best i can do. they are selling for MUCH more on ebay.
