Problem with 1993 300 four trax

Runs great until warm then bogs and stalls. Let sit for a few moments and starts and runs good again. New CDI, new coil, new carb kit, cleaned fuel tank, new petcock, in-line gas filter still the same issue.......out of answers.....hopefully someone can help.

Did you replace the starter valve on the carb. My bet the valve is worn and acts like the choke is on

You mean the choke assemble....it looks good. I don't think it is flooding. After a few moments it fires and runs great again until hot. No black smoke runs fantastic until hot.

Are the carb kit and CDI OEM Honda parts? Or china knockoffs?
Goober and _Wilson_ like this.

I have a 93 also-tremendous rig I donít ride it enough
When you say the choke looks good I donít know what you mean, that conical oring has to be a little snug in the bore and actually seat when you close the choke. This quad uses a VE90EA carb so if you have a knockoff carb the choke may not be seating. See the choke valve in my pic? If yours looks like mine itís no good.

Is your spark plug black? Too richĖchoking. Soak it with some carb cleaner and clean it with a brass brush. Set your pilot jet to 2 turns out.

When you switch on does the oil light come on momentarily and then go out?
So if it is shutting down when it gets hot perform the oil temp sensor and alarm unit test on page 20-4 of the manual

It is the original carb. Exactly as yours in picture. I got the parts off ebay so they are a knock off. I never changed the o ring on the choke valve so i will look at that. The oddity is symptoms have never changed with everything ive done. When i turn on the key the oil comes on but goes right off. I will do that oil sensor test.

Garage
I got a 92 ----- my first thoughts when they malfunction after getting hot is an electrical issue , maybe the coil , cdi or alarm box , but it could be a lot of things that could cause it to run bad after waring up , maybe simple as the tank vent is clogged up or turned off and it is not venting the tank and causing a suction that is stopping the flow , maybe the piston/rings are on the way out and after it gets hot the compression drops , maybe a valve sticking after it gets hot

like Goober asked , what does the plug look like ----do you have a compression tester , check the compression cold and then after t gets hot

Looks like it was rich or carb dirty and now burning ok. I would clean it off and try again not making too many big swings at it.
Whatís the oring like? Smooth? Brittle?

China parts don't work, so the first step should be putting everything back to stock OEM Honda so you can diagnose the issue you're having, rather than diagnosing known-to-be-improper-junk china parts.

You may only need a bit of choke plunger work or something simpler than that.
