you are correct, new cam chain, top end gasket kit, front cover gasket, maybe a drive shaft output oil seal. you still will need to pull the starter rope off, so you can use the timing index marks on the back.
Already have the starter rope removed to make it easier to line up the crank mark. Where do you get the D I D cam chains from?

@shadetree, I appreciate your insight in helping me figure out what to order. I will take your list of items ^^^^^ a few posts up for reference. I am just amazed I have taken this to where it is as I am not that much of a wrencher. But when I was told what was estimated to do this in a shop I got some courage!! Also I'm sorry you have been helping here as you have your own projects to work on and getting nothing done.

yw, don't worry about me, I am not in a hurry here...lol. all I got to do is finish putting this '99 trx450s motor together, but I got a ton of cleaning to do on engine parts...lol. not in a hurry at all..lol.

That's like half the price of the OEM Honda parts sites. You have stressed don't buy the cheap Chinese crap, this is your timing chain of choice? I don't mind spending more for quality parts....

lol..D.I.D. cam chains are not china made !..lol. if ya was to open up a box from honda on their cam chains..guess whats stamped on most of them ?..D.I.D. !!!..lol. been using D.I.D. cam chains all my life, they are not cheap junk.
