[QUOTE=shadetree. here's a pic of mine, can you spot the difference ?.[/QUOTE]

looks like you might be talking about the area in between the plunger hole and the cable hole is made differently ----

Manny hooked me up with the correct carb that had the exact same code for my year (92) , that bike came with a 350 carb on it and ran but not to potential , I had tried quite a few different carbs on that engine , when I finally got the correct one it runs very good

you are correct !, there seems to be a insert of some kind missing on this carb versus yours ?..hmmmm..lol. I have no idea what year trx300 this came off of ?, here's the code on it, VE 90ABD0 and what looks like ?..the letter T on the very end ?. VE 90ABDDOT ?. anyone know what year it is ?.

Hey FF I haven’t looked through all the service manuals but I haven’t seen a VE90A for 1993 model as you have listed. VE90A listed for 1988.

My 93 TRX300 came unmodified from the PO with a VE90E. I bought another VE90E and rebuilt it successfully and they both work great on that quad.

Shade that carb has a couple more letters like VE90E AXX with a Japanese letter at the end I don’t know what the suffix is.

@Wewaman only had the last 8 digits from the VIN so used the manual to identify the engine #TE14E - 8302731 from the model year 1991 and bought a VE90C carb to match the engine. It should work being as the jets are all matchy too. The starter valve for that carb should be a 16046-HC4-840, which is listed for all those 1988-1993 TRX300 carbs.

Tony, try working the choke cable by hand and see if that thing will hum. Set it up just like the book says. Be careful to set the throttle idle screw so it’s just touching the linkage and be careful to keep slack in it when you thread the cable onto the carb. Then put the choke cable in and then install the carb on the boot. Use the cable adjuster on the handlebar to snug up the throttle cable
