Updated Smartphone Feedback Thread

We're pleased to announce that we have launched a new smartphone view on the site, in addition to the recently added mobile view in the last upgrade. This version has been designed to have a cleaner look, to fit really nicely into mobile (iPhone, Android) browsers, and unlike most normal web based skins will also include features that are normally reserved for desktop or phone applications. We built this as we realize you all spend more time today on your phones on the forum than you did 2 years ago, and we want to get the mobile view to a place where you can do everything (and more!) that you can do on desktop.

A few notes as I know many of you may have questions:

* This does not replace the free or paid in-apps that you have, such as any mobile apps. This is web-only.
* This new skin will only show when you access the site from a modern (Android 4+, iPhone) phone. It will not show for older phones or for tablets, blackberries or windows phones.
* Please give us some time as we work through bugs. Give it a try, give us feedback in our mobile thread url, and give it a chance. Every change needs time to get used to!

If you visit the site from your mobile phone, you'll get the new view automatically. You can login, post, reply, upload photos, view your private messages and more. You can also use the legacy mobile view by choosing the top left menu and Exit Enhanced Mobile Mode.

The feedback thread for any bugs, etc, please post below.

**Please let use know the device, software version, and browser being used if reporting any issues.

A little more info to help you navigate the new view.

Click the image to open in full size. The Hamburger Button - This will give you active topics as well as an option to exit mobile if you prefer the desktop view.

Click the image to open in full size. <- Look for this guy (top right). They call this the over flow button. You can use this to find "Settings".

Settings

  • Loading Behavior -> Oldest First/Newest First
  • Font Size -> small - normal - large - huge
  • Items Per Page -> 10/20/50
  • Theme -> Light/Dark
  • Page Navigation Mode - Slide/Direct
  • Auto Hide Page navigation ->On/Off
  • Show Attachment previews ->On/Off
  • Hide Sticky Topics. -> On/Off

To be fair, I don't like any smart phone format for websites, prefer the desktop versions.

Me too.
I don't like the smart phone view for, hi lifter, pirate 4x4, steel soldiers, or really any other.
So I'm not bashing only this forum.

All fair and valid. You all figured out how to turn it off if you need to. If you have questions or comments let me know. We are happy to take any constructive criticism as well.

Features that I didn't like so I also forced desktop version:

1) doesn't allow hold down on a link to open in new tav

2) where is the shortcut for active topics??

3) where are the buttons to quote others when replying to a thread??

2004 TRX400FA (Rancher 400AT)
MotionPro twist throttle kit
12" handlebar mounted light bar
rear rack wheelchair carrier
Cycle Country 48" plow w/ KFI hybrid mount
Champion 3000 lb winch w/ synthetic rope
23" Titan 489's all around (saving clutch)

2011 Grizzly 450 EPS

Others in the family: '04 TRX250TE, '85 TRX250 Utility (X2), '05 TRX90, '06 TRX500FA, '95 TRX400FW,' 88 TRX125

Active topics can be found here:
Click the image to open in full size.

To quote others click the little check box of the post you would like to quote and then at the top you should get this little icon and that quotes the post.

Click the image to open in full size.

So now I found the active topics shortcut in the top left menu. And found how to quote by selecting the little individual checkbox of the message you want to quote, and then select the quote symbol at the top.
But still can't open different threads in new tabs, which is a deal breaker for me. I want to open active topics, scroll through the list and as ones interest me, open them in new tabs in the background. It's too putzy to be going back and forth from threads you click on and then back to the active topics page. I'll be switching back to desktop view strictly for that reason.

Hi, Overall, I am enjoying the new interface (iphone 6s plus). The only issue I had is that its easy to lose your reply, if you hit a button accidently before hitting "send".

2016 Rancher 4x4 ES
Superwinch Terra 35 (used once to pull the bottom of a cut down but stuck tree).
Auxillary LEDs
Accessory plug
Haven't plowed yet, but tons of work around the property.
