Thats not true (global SSL), images scripts are not handled on SSL, neither is the "Post Quick Reply" submit button, so a person posting text and images here are doing so insecurely. I'm no lawyer, but I'd have to assume those faults might go against the new EU/UK GDPR law that just went into effect in May? I have not attempted to audit the site to identify all its security faults, but your guys might want to consider that option...? You got a lot to lose if the site ever got hacked.

Good luck and have fun with it!

The site is already compliant with the GDCP/UK privacy laws as we added that in when it was put in effect in May. The site is secure and everything is fine.

There are some issues which come from breakages when SSL / Google Cloud move are added in which are what were experiencing as adding SSL is not as simple as some people make it out to be.

@SamUK - Where did this happen? What happened after you clicked Submit?

@LedFTed - I can't help there. I dont use Linux. Maybe someone else on the forums can help there.

After clicking submit I get redirected back to the thread but my post doesn’t appear, this only happens every now and then, maybe once a week or so. If I go to active topics the thread I posted on will show I posted but if I open that thread I cannot see my post, it takes 2 to 24 hours sometimes for it to show.

Late nights (early morning in the UK) I am seeing various glitches on occasion too. Last night the site kept logging me out (after being logged in for just a minute), so I left this site and read through the Honda Foreman forums. That site (one of VS as well) worked perfectly and did not ever log me out.

In the past, I assumed that backups were being done late at night whenever the site mis-behaved. But lately its gotten much worse and much less predictable what might happen next. I have 11 3rd party connections blocked here now. I suspect some of those javascripts are causing instabilities because two or more might be sharing the same code declarations and/or are not being terminated when no longer used? I'd suggest your guys might want to look those scripts over.

I'll also note, I am forcing SSL domain-wide (even securing/encrypting cookies) and that practice has helped me a lot.

When you post and it doesnt appear, is it possibly kicking you back to the page you were looking at when you replied, but yours is on the next page?

I'm running a thread rebuild for kicks to see if that helps some.

When you see it again, refresh the page and see if a new page, or your post appears. This could be a sync issue as well.

SSL and TSL

i run XP on the 1st HD. its so out of date, that TSL 1.0 update cant happen. what i have found out on the net fairly says the SSL, is being dropped completely. i may have read it wrong,.. SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0 .. needs some more looking into on my part. several sites said this.. i didnt go much more than 10 or so sites.. different sites seem to yammer on..

SSL is not being dropped as all sites are being forced to change to HTTPS as Chrome/Firefox has been blocking non-http content and will block sites completely.
