Anyone using AV gas? 100LL

The title pretty much says it all. I've been searching for Ethanol free fuel a friend suggested I use "Aviation fuel". I've been reading about it on the internet I'm getting mixed results on how good or bad it would be to use in our Ranchers. What do you think?

Thanks,
Neal

You look here?

https://www.pure-gas.org/

My local walmart now has ethanol free. You have to buy the 93 octane though.

Thanks, Jeepwm69

I looked at that site and the closest place to me is 150 miles from where I live. I work in San Jose and can't seem to find any in the bay area.

Looks like it's just hippies ruining everything, as usual.

I'd call around to local marinas, see if they have it or know where to get it. If that doesn't work, AV will probably be your only option.

What year is your rancher? New enough to have an 02 sensor on it?

I have a 2003 and 2005. I'm not sure if they have 02 sensors, I'll have to look it up.

It's pretty bad here there is so much hypocrisy. I wish it was only the Hippies but let's not forget the socialists, hobos, do-gooders activists and cop haters. That's what I call diversity.

Garage
I have run 100ll in a few crotch rockets i drag raced years ago. And have ran it in my quads aswell. Until the local airport stopped selling it to us. It burned clean and ran well. Never had an issue out of it. It is held to a different standard then normal gas as it is going into something that if it misfires its a life or death situation. It also would go through a couple water sperators at our local airport. Was nice knowing it was clean high regulated fuel. But people were abusing the service as usual and putting it in cars for street racing and then imagine that we cant get it anymore........

If you could still buy 80/87 aviation fuel, that would be the way to go. 100LL has 4X the lead of 80/87!!! It is very difficult to scavenge that much lead out of the combustion process. It will end up adhering to your exhaust valve, guide and seat...

Shouldn't be an 02 sensor on any of those. That didn't start till 4-5 years ago. Reason I bought that up is it looks like the lead in Avgas will screw up cats and 02 sensors, but on an 03 and 05 you don't have any of that crap so probably won't hurt anything. Might foul plugs a little quicker but they're cheap and easy to replace.

And I lump all the commie social justice warriors under the term "hippy". My wife says I sound like an 75 year old bitching about "kids these days" LOL
