mickey were getting in me mom's doublewide. i put steel wool in the corners. they wernt capped off at the bottom. the vinyl sidding, has gaps too, there i went around the house with, sheet metal, for duct work. i had it cut into strips, then bent at a right angle. it was thin metal. $$....i think it was bent at 5/16", down 1 3/4" .. i did have to put insert's in the concrete to hold the strips up. 5/16" was enough to be under the siding.

the sonic things are JUNK<> WE tried all sorts of them at our hunting camps that sit empty for several months at a time some times
now have helped with mice, spiders or what ever
\ had better luck using a radio and assorted lights on timers, seems sounds of humans and light would keep mice away better INDOORS, but didn't help us at all in our buildings/sheds garages barns and such!

my other hunting property, I tore things down pretty good and filled in ever hole crack and crevice I could find with expandable foam or caulking, and been about 18 yrs now sicne I seen a moue inside the place,, spiders YES, but no mice!
it was a LOT of work, and detailed work to find and fill all places, but since I was re doing a lot of it at the time, it was worth it to me

Now, outside or other buildings that have just too many places for them to squeeze into, its been a non stop battle , I have cats here, foxes, coons, and USED to have a lot of Owl's
not sure what happened to all my owl's, as the past yr or so, they all seemed to go MIA on me, and I can tell when ever there numbers get low, as skunks start to show up here.
Owl's will eat skunks , so when I start to see skunks, I know I am missing owl's, and last night a skunk blasted a coon on my DECK, and today all the more so I am really wishing I had my Owl's back LOL

been getting a few inches of rain ever day lately and for once I am HAPPY its raining!
hoping it washes away the funk!

got about 10 inches of train this month so far!, WAY above average for the month, and the YR so far, were actually setting a ace to break last yrs record rain fall amounts, as were PAST lasts yrs rainfall for this time already>>

rain every other day is NOT fun folks

Thereís also no his stuff called rodent stopper; i spray it in my shed seems to keep out rodents
I finally got to putting screen over my intake opening while I had it off doing the cylinder head rebuild on my Rancher. Finally, no more needing to remember to put pine scented car air fresheners in the airbox every year....

I am not sure that is small enough mesh to stop a field mouse
they can squeeze thru some real small openings, as there skulls are flexable
MIGHT want to test things
get another sections of pipe and put some corn or peanuts in it, and place it where they are known to be and see if they get em

or maybe double the layer of that mesh and have it cocver things smaller would be my vote!

Sorry if too late already and your all back together
but
I seen them get into some real tight places over the yrs and fill things with corn! and crap to nest!

That mesh looks bigger in the pic. Goes to show how small that snorkel inlet is on the 400AT? It's 1/4" mesh, so a dime would almost go across 3 squares. Not a bad idea though, I just may test it anyway since I'm using the same screen on my garage floor drain daylight exist pipe. I've never had signs of mice in my garage so I think it is working though.

https://www.twpinc.com/wire-mesh-by-...control-meshes basically same size I used and that's what they sell it for.

It ended up taking almost no time for the kid to help me put it on though, so if the mesh is determined to be too big, I'll put tighter stuff on right away. But if good going to start doing the rest in the fleet.

yeah it looks larger in pic, than maybe it is

I have same screen like that, but gather mine is larger holes in it, and that was why I said what I said, as I seen them get in thru it here!

all the more so if there baby mice, them suckers can be pretty darn small LOL

^^ that would be my vote too, OR storm door (what i used) mesh, this mesh will stop the smallest of pest, i don't worry too much about mice, it's the mud dobbers N wasp That cause issues, and dont forget, there was the issue fish had with a wasp nest in his snorkel ... So.... I'd bullet proof it as best i could.

atv has been sitting for a while, so long i near forget. sciatica, is something ya dont want. i fractured a disk. well, too much told. when out the other day, seen a wasp go in, an maybe, another came out, of the exhaust. so i get the Raid., tried repel, it was the foamy kind, didnt do much, though i like the repel 40%deet, over deep woods off.
where was i, oh yeah,, bout 14 to 16 wasp came out, i scooted back into the house, just in case. then i sprayed again later, after dark. i sprayed one more time for good luck, when nothing happened i got a flashlight, looked inside, probed with a wire, and found, it aint to far, before ya blocked,by a peice of metal... that means the nest is somewhere else in the muffler, is a nest.
wasp nest are tuff. i think i got more, than a potentially plugged muffler.

have ya all covered a clog, on the exhaust?
