I couldn't even find an aluminum box with a hinged cover. All I found were bolt-together watertight NEMA 4 boxes (pricey!). It looks like you'll have to cut up a Pelican, ehh? R&D ain't ever free... sometimes triples your costs to finding a good solution.

Got excited about this pic , then realized it was fake news , LOL
Lol ^^^ outside line thinking again ??

I was thinking an inclosure like this one (pic) , or something close to this ....https://www.aliexpress.com/item/6063...867652667.html
I figure the closer the clearance is to the inside walls of the heatsink should solve the heat issue, but again theres that sealing up issue .

I mounted the amp onto an aluminum plate to act as a heat sink , then tied the Pelican box into the snorkel , not sure how well it is going to pull heat from the box without having another vent , I might thread a 3/8 hose barb into the box and run a hose off of it ------- want to change that clear hose to black if it works out , the clear hose was something lying around and looks ugly

one thing good that came out of this , is I relocated the winch solenoid , and so far I am happy with the results , I was looking around for something to make a plate to mount the KFI solenoid under the cooler and found that a u-bolt was just a little bit off from fitting the mounting base of the solenoid , by taking a 19 mm socket and sticking it in the u of the u-bolt , then putting it in a vise and squeezing it , then tweaking the two studs , it slide right in , clamped it to the tube of the front rack and it is solid

Another successful trip with the 450

one thing I don't like , I should have never put the stiff springs in the clutch , it is harder on your foot to shift than my other 450 without the spring kit

the amp didn't melt down yet , but it was overcast and had rained all morning and not that hot

another thing is the extra shim in the front diff , it may help give traction to the other side sometimes , but it is not a locker by any means , maybe I should have stuck 2 shims in there

started right up , rode it to the first pit stop and it wouldn't start by the button , thought maybe I ran the batteries down as I let the radio play for a long time before leaving on the ride , pull started it which is very ,very hard as this bike has some mean compression , got it started and home and the batteries where up , and the solenoid was good , took the starter out and cleaned the ground and she started up ------ the sound system shut down again and never came back yet
