CRF50F in action: my 8-year-old (Video)

Howdy friends,

It's been two weeks tomorrow since we purchased this little 2007 Honda CRF50F, and my 8-year-old has really taken to it quickly. He's a natural at running the little thing, starting it (choke and all), shifting the gears, etc. I'm very proud of him and he's loving it. Here's a short video of some ride clips from this afternoon, check him out:

Is this the same child which got the tooth snatch out by the CRF, LOL.... If so, I can see why he is taking command of the CRF....

From the beginning to the end of that video, the speed/confidence started to accelerate, great for him. I suspect he will put 1000 miles on that CRF this week, LOL

This is the same kid that was operating the bike in the tooth-pulling video. It was funny, I had him practice his launch about 10 times before I had him pull the older boy's tooth. He had his full-throttle launch down. I'm glad you saw that one.

Oh yeah. He loves it. I love to see him outside, not in front of a screen (TV, iphone, ipad, Kindle) of any sort and just doing something like this outdoors. I know there is some risk, but if the injuries can stay small (broken bones or less I'd rather run the risk of injury than see him wanting to veg with technology. I don't mind him spending some time on technology, but kids crave it ALL DAY these days. FYI - I would have killed (literally) to have this bike when I was a kid.

I hope so! He's already begging me to go on trail rides, or go ride with his buddies that have a small track.

Kids NEEEEEED danger!!

If they don't get exposed to danger or adrenaline rushes at a young age, they will either grow up extremely lazy and afraid of anything, or worse, supplement the danger never experience as a kid with criminal activity.

The fact that they removed playgrounds from a lot of schools due to the "danger", especially monkey bars, says A LOT about today's society.

Kids don't stand a friggin chance anymore, unless they have parents that show them the way, like you!!

Check out this song on YouTube:

Not sure if you know anything about Jordan Peterson, but he pretty much sums it up in this video.

I totally agree ^^^^^^^ my neighbor is a big believer in the cub scouts / Boy Scouts over the last few years he's asked me if he can take the boys on outings on my land, each time I've told heck yes! Told hm..... It builds in character, responsibility n repect, you don't see much of that anymore (sadly) .......
